What you can expect

You will create and implement AI-driven experiences within Zoom, handling everything from concept to production. This role involves full ownership, not merely creating mockups or writing CSS.

Collaborate closely with design and engineering leaders to shape scalable, impactful solutions. Work progresses quickly, delivering to millions of users within weeks. Excellence is valued across all aspects, including interaction design, motion, layout, and code.

Attention to detail and a focus on quality are essential. If precision and thoughtful design matter to you, this opportunity aligns perfectly with your expertise and passion for crafting exceptional user experiences.

About the Team

We're the team behind Zoom's agentic features. We design and build intelligent, autonomous experiences that help people get more done before, during, and after their collaborative work. Think conversational AI, proactive assistance, task automation, contextual intelligence. The team is small, flat, and opinionated. We don't believe in handoffs; we believe in making. We ship fast, prototype constantly, and hold each other to a high bar for both design quality and code quality. We work sholder-to-sholder with the ML engineers to translate what's technically possible into experiences that feel intuitive and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building, end-to-end: Create production-quality UI for agentic AI experiences, from interaction frameworks and motion systems down to pixel-level polish in code.
  • Owning critical user journeys: Take features from concept through prototype, implementation, and iteration, with full ownership at every stage.
  • Prototyping at speed: Rapidly build functional prototypes to validate ideas before full implementation, reducing the gap between idea and testable artifact to hours, not days.
  • Solving novel interaction problems: Define patterns for autonomous task execution, multi-step workflows, trust calibration, and progressive disclosure in non-deterministic systems.
  • Pushing boundaries through technical innovation: Surface new possibilities from the engineering side back into design, not just execute existing specs.
  • Evolving shared systems: Contribute to component libraries, design tokens, and tooling that accelerate the entire team.
  • Shaping product direction: Partner with product, research, and leadership to influence what we build and why.
  • Bridging design and engineering: Translate design intent into technical decisions and ensure every interaction feels intentional in production.

What we’re looking for

  • Need to be equally comfortable in Figma and a code editor. You move fluidly between the two, using whichever tool best serves the problem.
  • Have good knowledge on front-end engineering skills (React, TypeScript, CSS, animations) alongside a sharp eye for visual design and interaction detail.
  • Possess 8+ years of experience designing and building complex software products, with demonstrated work on AI/ML, developer tools, or similarly technical domains.
  • Think systematically to understand how individual features integrate into broader user experience and technical architectures.
  • Demonstrate experience defining design direction for new product areas where patterns didn't yet exist, and shipped the implementation yourself.
  • Possess meticulous attention to craft by focusing on details, motion, timing, and interaction, while writing clean and maintainable code to complement it.
  • Have experience designing for non-deterministic systems: you understand trust calibration, progressive disclosure, and user control when outputs aren't predictable.
  • Have portfolio that shows both design thinking and technical execution, not just one or the other.

Fraudulent Employment Offers

Zoom is aware of scams that involve fake Zoom job listings posted on third-party sites. Responding applicants are contacted primarily over email, InMail and/or chat applications by people impersonating Zoom employees. Eventually a fake offer letter is sent in exchange for personal identification information as part of a fake new-hire screening process.

Please be advised that these offers, communications and impersonations are illegitimate and fraudulent. All communication with Zoom employees come from a “@zoom.us” email address. Zoom job applicants complete an interview process including in-person (on Zoom) meetings and phone calls. Our process also requires you to create an account with our applicant tracking system, Workday.

Zoom will never ask for your personally identifying information during the interview process or ask you to pay money or purchase equipment. If you have received a message from Zoom that appears suspicious, please contact us here
