Time Off & Leave Summary: India

This document is to act as a summary of policies offered for India and may be updated at any point in time. This is only for informational purposes and does not constitute an employment contract. 

Eligibility 

To utilize the below time off and leave policies, you must be a regular full-time employee. Interns, temporary, seasonal employees,  and contingent workers employed with Zoom India are not eligible to participate 

Annual Leave 

Employees will be provided with 2 annual leave days monthly (accruing 24 days of annual leave per calendar  year). Mid-period hires are prorated based on calendar days.

  • Employees can rollover up to a maximum of 45 unused days. 
  • Employees can borrow from any remaining accruals for the year plus 10 days that can be borrowed from the following year.
  • Upon termination of employment, any remaining balance will be paid out to the employee. 
  • This plan is not adjusted based on FTE, but the same for everyone. 
  • Accrual is halted if the employee is on a leave of absence. 

Sick/Casual Leave 

Zoom will provide India employees with 12 days of paid sick/casual time off per year to be used for casual need, sickness, accident, or for any other reasonable cause. Eligible employees will be issued 3 days at the start of each quarter. Balances expire at the end of a calendar year.

  • This leave type is not eligible to be paid out upon termination. 

Compassionate / Bereavement 

Zoom recognizes that employees may need time off following the death of a family member. Zoom will provide 5 paid consecutive days of funeral/bereavement leave per instance for immediate family members as follows: employee’s current spouse, domestic partner, father, mother, sister, brother, children, current parent in-law, grandparents, and grandchildren. 

  • The offering is available from an employee’s hire date and every year following. 
  • It can be used in multiple instances, but not to exceed 5 consecutive days per instance. 
  • This leave type is not eligible to be paid out upon termination. 

Pandemic Time Off 

Starting May 15, 2021, Zoom will be providing all India employees with 10 days of paid time off that can be taken in half-day  increments to support our employees in India with the COVID pandemic. Zoomies in India can utilize this additional paid time to  take time off  work, as needed, to recover physically and/or mentally, take care of family members, to get vaccinated, etc. 

  • The offering is front loaded and will expire on June 30, 2022.
  • The offering will not rollover beyond the expiration date. 
  • This leave type is not eligible to be paid out upon termination. 

Maternity Leave and Benefits

Every female employee who has put in a minimum of 80 days of service in the 12 months preceding the
date of the expected delivery shall be entitled to the following maternity benefits:

Maternity Leave

  1. Paid leave of a continuous period of up to twenty-six (26) weeks, of which not more than eight (8) weeks shall precede
    the date of expected delivery of the child, for up to 2 surviving children
  2. Paid Leave of a continuous period of up to 12 weeks, of which not more than 6 weeks shall precede the date of expected
    delivery, for the 3rd and subsequent child
  3. Paid Leave of a continuous period of 12 weeks for adopting and commissioning mothers, starting from the date the child
    is handed over to the mother. Adoption leave may be availed for caring and settling in the adoptive child only if the age
    of the adopted child is less than 3 months
  4. Additional paid leave of up to 1 month in case of any illness arising out of pregnancy, delivery, premature birth,
    miscarriage or termination of pregnancy or tubectomy operation
  5. Paid Leave of up to 6 weeks immediately following the day of miscarriage or medical termination of pregnancy
  6. Paid Leave of up to two weeks immediately following the day of tubectomy operation.

Other Benefits

  1. Receipt of medical bonus as per applicable laws, unless pre-natal and post-natal expenses are covered under the
    health insurance plan.
  2. Use of a creche facility based on any tie up that Zoom may have with service providers, at the sole risk and liability of the
    employee.
  3. Up to four breaks in a day (inclusive of any rest interval) for nursing the child until he/she is 15 months old.
  4. Ability to work from home (upon returning from maternity leave) for such period(s), terms and conditions as may be
    specified by Zoom, provided that the nature of work performed by the employee permits such remote working.

Zoom’s Paid Parental Leave (PPL)

Zoom will provide 16 weeks of Paid Parental Leave to all eligible employees (male and female), in accordance with the Paid Parental Leave Policy, after the birth of the child. There is no qualifying length of service. Birthing parents will be eligible for 22 to 24 weeks of Paid Parental Leave, depending on whether they deliver naturally or via C-section. Employees myst have worked at Zoom for six continuous months prior to the time of birth in order to be eligible  for Paid Parental Leave. Please refer to the Paid Parental Leave Policy in the Employee Handbook for eligibility requirements.

All payments under Zoom’s PPL policy are inclusive of any entitlement of statutory maternity leave as described in the Maternity Leave section above and shall run concurrently.

Conditions:

  1. To avail the maternity benefits or Paid Parental Leave, you are required to inform your manager at least [one] month in
    advance and may be required to produce sufficient proof.
  2. Weekly offs and holidays falling during the maternity leave period/Paid Parental Leave are included as part of the leave.
  3. Maternity leave and Paid Parental Leave is not encashable in any manner, under any circumstance, nor can it be
    accumulated or used in installments.
  4. Employees also cannot extend their maternity leave/ Paid Parental Leave beyond the limits provided in this policy.
  5. Upon return to work from maternity leave, every effort will be made to reinstate a female employee into the position
    that she held prior to the leave. However, if the same position is not available upon return, the employee may be offered

Time off & Leave Summary: Japan 

This document is to act as a summary of policies offered for  Japan and may be updated at any point in time. This is only for  informational purposes and does not constitute an employment contract. The below  time off  & leave offerings  were updated and put into place on 1 October, 2021. 

Eligibility 

To utilize the below time off and leave policies, you must be an employee of Zoom. Contingent workers are not eligible to  participate. The below time off and leave plans are not eligible to be paid out upon termination. If the offering rate differs based on  full-time, part-time, or temporary status, it is discussed in the policy summary, otherwise all employees are eligible for the offering. 

Annual Leave

Full-time, regular employees receive 20 front loaded days of paid annual leave per  year. Mid-period hires receive a prorated front- loaded amount based on calendar days. The employee can carryover up to 20 days each year and the carryover  will expire after  12 months. Part-time employees, interns, and temporary employees receive a prorated front-loaded balance based on their time worked and in accordance with statutory laws. 

Compassionate / Bereavement Leave 

Zoom recognizes that employees may need time off following the death of a family member. Zoom will provide paid days to  employees based on the below: 

  • 5 days if employee is a mourner if parents, spouses, children pass away
  • 3 days if employee is not a mourner if parents, spouses, children pass away 
  • 2 days if grandparents, brothers and sisters pass away 
  • 2 days when spouse’s parent passes away 

Jury Duty 

Zoom will provide 5 days of paid time off for employees who are called to Jury Duty. Employees will be required to provide  documentation of the jury duty request. Part-time employees, interns, and temporary employees receive a prorated front-loaded  balance based on their time worked. 

  • Any time requested beyond 5 days can be taken with  Annual Leave or Unpaid Leave. 

Marriage Time 

Employees will receive 5 consecutive days of paid time off for the employees own marriage. Employees will be required to provide  documentation for the marriage time request. 

  • This leave type must be used within the first year of marriage. 

Medical Check 

Employees will receive one paid day a year to go to the doctor to receive confirmation that the employee is fit to work. Employees  will be required to provide documentation for the medical check request. 

  • The offering is available from an employee’s hire date and every year following.

Sick Leave 

Employees will receive 3 days of paid sick leave provided by Zoom. If the employee is out of the office  for two consecutive days the employee will be required to provide a doctor’s note. Paid Parental Leave 

Zoom offers full-time, regular employees Paid Parental Leave for both parents. This offering includes  16 weeks of paid leave and runs concurrently  with any local entitlements. 対象者
