Frontend Software Engineer

On the Async Communication team, we work on high impact projects that serve hundreds of millions of users every day! This is an exciting opportunity to work cross functionally with engineers to define a set of web interfaces to access cool Zoom REST API based services.

About the Team

With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.

Responsibilities

• Building web pages using Javascript/HTML/CSS

• Assisting with peer code review

• Building, packing (such as using webpack), releasing (using continuous integration tool such as Jenkins) frontend of service

• Conducting test javascript with JS test framework such as MochaJS Collaborating to mentor junior engineers

• Using React or Vue framework to communicate with REST based backend services

What we’re looking for

• Experience using REST API/WebSocket

• BS in Computer Science, EE, with at least 4 years experience in Javascript

• Experience with Java is a bonus

• Have experience with at least one scripting language, such as Python, shell, PHP Be able to work with a group of engineers to develop, code review and release product

• Experience of using Vue or React framework

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
