Zoom Virtual Engineering (ZVE) is the engine that delivers technical excellence through our centers of excellence (COE). We leverage operational excellence to scale and accelerate pre-sales coverage in the markets we serve by aligning the right resource to the right opportunity at the right time. The Zoom Virtual Engineering (ZVE) Solutions Engineer (SE) is an exciting and rewarding position. The ideal ZVE SE is passionate about our UCaaS vision and will have experience in Cloud Meetings, Cloud Video, Cloud Voice, ISV integrations as well as having knowledge of legacy PBX/telephony systems and on-prem video endpoints. This individual will work with enterprise-level customers to demonstrate the business value of specialized product-sets within the overall Zoom platform.
This individual must be able to understand and articulate Zoom's architectural advantages to our customers and support the Account Executive when it comes to proposing and designing solutions to our customers biggest challenges by being the pre-sales expert within a specific subject matter expertise area.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven and have a background in telephony, video and applications sales, knowledge of Zoom communication platform (Meetings, Chat, Webinars, Phone, Events, Rooms, Marketplace/API) and/or competitive equivalent. In-depth knowledge of application-based competition is preferred. (Microsoft, Amazon, RingCentral, 8x8, Cisco, etc)
As a Solution Engineer you will be:
Designing next-generation communication solutions for Zoom customers
Conducting demos and POCs (proofs of concept) for prospective and existing Zoom customers
Solution and architectural design and selling
RFQ/RFP response/preparation
Building competitive intelligence
Working Across Multiple Boundaries
Driving the Zoom Vision
There may be limited travel required in the territory stated above. We will greatly promote the use of the amazing Zoom tools we have to maximize all the resources at Zoom.
Requirements:
Business acumen and excellent communication skills
1-2 years of technical experience in Collaboration technologies
SaaS Collaboration sales, success or tech support experience (i.e. web conferencing, cloud voice, UCaaS)
Ability to create, present, and document technical solutions
Ability to present topics in a clear and concise manner to many levels of technical skill sets and audience sizes
Understanding of solution sales
Be flexible and able to function in a high-growth environment
Be adaptive to the rapid changes and enhancements of a UCaaS solution across all product lines
Basic understanding of DevOps with basic programming knowledge
Typically requires a Bachelor of Science (BS) / Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or equivalent
Desired Skills:
Experience in a customer-facing technical role is preferred
Knowledge of traditional voice communications systems and applications
Working knowledge of packet captures - how to read and decipher
End-to-end IT systems knowledge
Formulate and communicate a technical solution/vision
Understand Zoom partner and ecosystem partners, products and applications
Competitive knowledge in UCaaS and ISV market

Fraudulent Employment Offers
Zoom is aware of scams that involve fake Zoom job listings posted on third-party sites. Responding applicants are contacted primarily over email, InMail and/or chat applications by people impersonating Zoom employees. Eventually a fake offer letter is sent in exchange for personal identification information as part of a fake new-hire screening process.

Zoom job applicants complete an interview process including in-person (on Zoom) meetings and phone calls.
