The Zoom Virtual Engineering (ZVE) Manager - AMER role at Zoom is an exciting and rewarding position. We are looking for a dynamic leader with deep Unified Collaboration as a Service (UCaaS) experience who can lead, build and scale the region and the team.

This Leadership role will be tasked with leading the “Delivering Happiness” culture here at Zoom, both to our customers and your team.  Leave your ego at the door, we are looking for a leader who wants to make everyone around them better. They must foster a culture of trust, teamwork and continued improvement both personally and professionally.

They will also be responsible for serving as the business partner for the Sales Leadership team across multiple market segments as well as contributing to strategic planning, headcount growth, coverage models and business strategy.

The ideal candidate will be a self-driven experienced leader who can work with the virtual engineering team to remove obstacles and allow them to focus on their priorities. The role requires the leader to have a background in telephony, Web and Video Conferencing, Software as a Service (SaaS), as well as SDK/APIs. Competitive knowledge for offerings from Microsoft, RingCentral, 8x8, Cisco Systems and other vendors will be looked at favorably. You must be able to own strategic projects end to end, as well as cultivate the expertise of the growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead SE team distributed across AMER

  • Set and execute the technical pre-sales strategy for the Virtual Engineering team

  • Establish operational excellence to streamline virtual support processes for AMER

  • Manage the delivery of programs and initiatives to the larger SE Team

  • Build business plans with sales partners

  • Attract, coach, mentor and develop both Early in Career (EIC) and experienced members in the team

  • Handle business, technical, personnel and customer escalations from the team

  • Work effectively across multiple leaders and departments

  • Drive the Zoom Vision

Requirements:

  • Thorough Unified Collaboration and UCaaS experience

  • Strong understanding of Commercial and SMB pre-sales engagement process and best practices

  • 8+ years experience in the Unified Collaborations industry

  • 8+ years in a technical pre-sales organization

  • Strong business acumen, presentation skills, and executive presence

  • Industry competitive knowledge including solution, technology and product offerings

  • Understand partner’s business and how Zoom services can enhance their value proposition

  • Lead by example and influence

  • Typically requires Bachelor of Science (BS) / Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or equivalent

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience leading a technical pre-sales organization

  • Understanding of AMER market across US, Canada and LATAM

  • Team management and hiring experience across AMER including working with Professional Employer Organizations (PEO)

  • Understand Zoom partner and ecosystem partners, products and applications

  • End-to-end IT systems knowledge

  • Be flexible and able to function in a high growth environment
