System reliability engineers (SREs) combine engineering experience and an innate drive to improve existing systems and processes, with the creativity to develop novel solutions to evolving challenges. SREs are typically responsible for the availability and reliability of critical platform services and applications, ensuring they meet the requirements of internal and external users. The best SREs are motivated to collaborate with business leaders in building and running sustainable production systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications for planning and managing operations infrastructure, including:

  • Experience planning and executing site deployments (AWS, RackSpace, private cloud).

  • Expertise in automating system administration tasks with scripting tools (Python or shell preferred).

  • Aptitude for analyzing and troubleshooting operating system, networking, configuration, and performance problems.

  • Fundamental understanding of Internet networking protocols: TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP, SMTP.

  • Ability to install, configure and maintain Linux hosts and popular open-source applications such as Nginx, Apache HTTPd, Apache Tomcat, Postfix, and MySQL server.

  • Experience with monitoring and automation tools such as Ansible, Splunk, Zabbix, etc.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff.

  • Familiar with system hardening and server security best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Develop automation to create and maintain systems image in DC and cloud.

•    Manage access to systems like ipa, knowledge with okta asa will be preferred

•    Design and develop tools for system management, monitoring, analysis, etc. 

•    Experience with monitoring and automation tools further help analyze real-time issues.

•    Familiar with system hardening and server security best practices

•    Familiar with patching OS with foreman/satelite and self repo build.

•    Working with the Lead Engineer to understand application functionalities and verification requirements; working with Software Engineering to define a scalable real-time testing and monitoring strategies

•    Lead troubleshooting and monitoring efforts with production/non-production systems.

Knowledge/skills:

•    Programming: Bash Scripting, Python 

•    Source Control: git

•    Build: Jenkins, Pipeline

•    OS hardening: cobbler, packer, kickstart, cloud-init

•    Security: iptables, firewalld, SSH, TLS, IAM

•    Network: tcpdump, ngrep, wireshark

•    Systems: Linux: CentOS, Amazon linux

•    Cloud skill: AWS, packer, terraform

•    Monitoring: Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK

•    Configuration: Ansible, Terraform

•    AWS Services: S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Route53, VPC, cloudfront, etc.

•    Common Services: nginx,keepalived, Kubernetes, Bind dns,LVS, ntp,

•    Virtualization: KVM

Responding applicants are contacted primarily over email, InMail and/or chat applications by people impersonating Zoom employees.
