Responsible for Zoom product features design. Work with team members to evaluate and design new XMPP and backend features including scalability and performance, third party tools evaluation etc. Write XMPP and backend design document and data flows and how various components interact with each other. Review the design with key team members and updated the design per feedback accordingly. Review the design with security, privacy and legal teams. Responsible for Zoom product features implementation. Write code using Erlang and C++ to implement the feature design. Write unit tests and automated tests for newly implemented XMPP and backend features. Work with the QA team to define integration test cases. Make sure the code is being reviewed before committing to the release branch. Contributing to Zoom product architecture. Actively participate in architecture discussions and review meetings for XMPP and backend components. Work with security & privacy teams to make sure security and privacy requirements are met. Work with cross functional teams to deliver product features and enhancements. Work closely with product managers, designers, QA, and release engineers to deliver product features with quality. Help on any build failures as needed. Provide feedback on designs and review requirements. Mentoring junior team members. Responsible for Zoom product bug fixes and customer escalations. Attend bug triage meetings on a regular basis. Fix bugs as needed based on priority and triage. Fix customer issues and escalations. Help triage production issues in the XMPP and backend areas. Participate in customer meetings as needed.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, a related field, or a foreign equivalent and 2 years of postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or related. In lieu of a Master’s Degree and 2 years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, a related field, or a foreign equivalent and 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related. Applicants must have 2 years experience (5 years in possession of a relevant Bachelor’s Degree) in the following: (1) Erlang programming language to build communication systems; (2) building large scale cloud services to be able to support millions of users; (3) C/C++ networking/communication programming on Linux/Unix platform; (4) highly available system design and implementation; and (5) computer networking protocols including TCP/IP or SIP. Fraudulent Employment Offers
Zoom is aware of scams that involve fake Zoom job listings posted on third-party sites. Responding applicants are contacted primarily over email, InMail and/or chat applications by people impersonating Zoom employees. Eventually a fake offer letter is sent in exchange for personal identification information as part of a fake new-hire screening process.
Please be advised that these offers, communications and impersonations are illegitimate and fraudulent. All communication with Zoom employees come from an “@zoom.us” email address. Zoom job applicants complete an interview process including in-person (on Zoom) meetings and phone calls.
