You’ll shape and protect our company’s intellectual property (IP) strategy. You’ll collaborate across business, product, and technology teams to manage patents and negotiate IP transactions. You’ll ensure innovation thrives securely and responsibly.


About the Team
Our legal team safeguards the company’s innovations and partnerships. We work collaboratively with engineers, scientists, and business leaders. Together, we enable responsible growth through sound legal guidance.


Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing our corporate patent portfolio in collaboration with inventors and external counsel.
  • Negotiating IP provisions in commercial and data licensing agreements to support innovation and compliance.
  • Advising internal teams on IP, data, and technology risks to ensure secure product development.
  • Coordinating with external counsel on filings, oppositions, and IP-related disputes.
  • Delivering IP training to teams to build awareness and strengthen compliance culture.

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrate 7–10 years of intellectual property experience, including patent portfolio management and IP transactions.
  • Hold admission to the U.S. Bar and authorization to practice before the USPTO.
  • Apply practical knowledge of patent lifecycle management and IP strategy.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and business teams to align legal advice with innovation goals.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Possess a Bachelors degree in  engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Bring familiarity with IP management tools or systems.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$124,000.00

Maximum:

$271,200.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
