Zoom is looking for a Sr. Commercial Counsel, Procurement to join our dynamic legal team. This role is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment. While the primary responsibility will be to review, advise and negotiate issues involving complex vendor contracts, the position may at times be called upon to provide a variety of general commercial legal services to the organization and its in-house clients. The ideal candidate will enjoy interfacing with cross-functional teams and vendors and provide professional and attentive service to both internal and external stakeholders. The role will report to Sr Counsel, Procurement.
In this role, you will:
Review, draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts or other legal documentation with Company vendors in the areas of SaaS, professional services, consulting, software licensing, hardware/software reselling, data center services, and others who desire to contract with the Company.
Provide legal and strategic business advice and ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes.
Transaction support for other departments as required.
Trusted advisor and business partner across the company by providing counsel and guidance for accomplishing Zoom's overall business objectives.
Requirements of the Role:
8+ years experience in an in-house legal department or a combined 8+ years experience in a law firm and in-house department.
Experience supporting a procurement org within a fast-paced organization.
A license to practice law in one of the 50 U.S. States.
Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills with the ability to effectively work with the procurement department and manage enterprise vendor deals.
Ability to lead diverse teams through complex negotiations, keeping all tasks organized and stakeholders clearly informed of deliverables and timelines.
Comfort with handling topics such as data privacy and security in the vendor contract context.
Ability to understand business objectives and think creatively and outside-the-box to find resolutions to achieve requirements of all parties.
Highly responsive with a service-oriented attitude.

Fraudulent Employment Offers
Zoom is aware of scams that involve fake Zoom job listings posted on third-party sites. Responding applicants are contacted primarily over email, InMail and/or chat applications by people impersonating Zoom employees. Eventually a fake offer letter is sent in exchange for personal identification information as part of a fake new-hire screening process.
Please be advised that these offers, communications and impersonations are illegitimate and fraudulent. All communication with Zoom employees come from a “@zoom.us” email address. Zoom job applicants complete an interview process including in-person (on Zoom) meetings and phone calls. Our process also requires you to create an account with our applicant tracking system, Workday.
