Zoom is hiring a Senior Commercial Counsel (Channel) to join our dynamic and fast growing legal team. This role is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment. The primary responsibility of the role is to advise on issues involving Channel sales programs pertaining to Zoom Phone and draft, review, and negotiate associated agreements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills as they will be interfacing with cross-functional teams and external Channel partners, carriers and customers. This is an independent contributor position and will report to the Senior Commercial Counsel (Channel/Manager) – Zoom Phone.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of:
    • all manner of partner-related agreements including distribution, reseller, referral, agency, strategic alliance and other types of partner agreements worldwide.
    • documentation needed to support channel sales and operations worldwide, including order forms, policies/procedures, and partner program materials.
  • Provide direct support to the Zoom Phone channel sales organization and leadership.
  • Work directly with key business stakeholders as a strategic adviser to provide practical legal advice on a broad range of complex legal, business and strategic issues pertaining to Zoom Phone and other sales offerings.
  • Partner with revenue recognition/finance, privacy, security, sales operations, and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements and documentation are consistent with internal company policies and processes.
  • Provide support to senior legal staff supporting channel sales and Zoom Phone offerings.
  • Drive and contribute to a variety of ad-hoc projects across the department supporting business, legal, and strategic corporate initiatives.


  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a high-growth SaaS environment negotiating and drafting enterprise-level cloud agreements and partner/channel agreements.
  • Experience within the telecommunications sector/working with telecom carriers.
  • Tech savvy with ability to complete projects quickly, independently and with minimal supervision (though you will always have the support you need).
  • Comfort with handling topics such as data privacy and security in the sales contract context.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and think creatively to find resolutions.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask, self-motivate, and prioritize numerous projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition issues and experience working with revenue and sales operations teams.
  • Strong academic background, J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
  • Highly responsive with a service-oriented attitude.
  • Team player with a sense of humor.
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in the negotiation and drafting of technology and other transactions, including experience supporting channel sales teams throughout the contract negotiation lifecycle with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Spanish language skills appreciated but not required

Colorado Salary Range or On Target Earnings:


$116,820.00 USD

Maximum :

$216,090.00 USD

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration base salary, bonus and equity value.  Information about Zoom’s benefits is hereNote: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.  We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
