Data Engineer, Product Intelligence

The Data Team empowers data informed decision making across Zoom. We know that to deliver customer happiness we need to build best in class products. We support this by empowering Product with behavioral insights to help them build better products. While providing these insights, we also need to ensure that we’re meeting the consent, privacy, and regulatory needs of hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
This role will be part of the Product Intelligence team and will be collaborating closely with other data engineers, data analysts and data scientists. The Product Intelligence team works very closely with the Product team to extract insights and build ML models around user behavior that help build better products and user experiences. This role will work closely with Product, Engineering and Big Data team to help ensure the success of data initiatives to support all of Zoom’s products. The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining data pipelines as well as transforming that data into consumable data models that takes business context into account. This individual should demonstrate strong communication skills, collaboration and an intellectual curiosity. Does this sound like you? Come join us!
Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
Implement data monitoring, including basic data quality checks.
Transform raw data into scalable, performant data models that would be consumed by data analysts and data scientists.
Design, build and update foundational analytics data models that simplify analyses across the products.
Implement best practices to ensure high quality, robust data.
Qualifications
Degree in a computer science, software engineering
Minimum of 6+ years (3+ with advanced degree) experience working in an engineering role
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient with Python
Advanced SQL ability including dimensional modeling and data model design
Proficiency in data principles, data architecture & data modeling
Experience developing orchestration/scheduling jobs (preferably Airflow)
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and Spark
Analytical problem solving skills
Previous experience working with product/user data
Experience with dbt is preferred

Fraudulent Employment Offers
Zoom is aware of scams that involve fake Zoom job listings posted on third-party sites. Responding applicants are contacted primarily over email, InMail and/or chat applications by people impersonating Zoom employees. Eventually a fake offer letter is sent in exchange for personal identification information as part of a fake new-hire screening process.
